Planning Insights | Project Updates | Industry Perspectives

Infinitum Perspectives brings together planning insights, project updates and industry developments from across our team.

In this edition, we explore the future of planning in Moreton Bay, the value of strategic planning in a Holland Park West property transaction, our work alongside local government and the challenges of translating housing supply reform into practical outcomes.

More Than a Planning Scheme: What Should Moreton Bay's Next Planning Framework Deliver?

As Moreton Bay prepares its next planning framework, there is an opportunity to consider how planning can better respond to the region's growth.

Housing supply, infrastructure delivery, employment opportunities, environmental outcomes and community expectations all have a role to play.

Our article explores five key priorities for a planning framework that supports growth while providing greater clarity and certainty for communities, industry and decision-makers.

Castle Hill Street: Planning Insight in Practice

Understanding development potential upfront can make a significant difference.

At Castle Hill Street, Holland Park West, preliminary planning and development due diligence was undertaken for a 7,204m² residential infill site.

Working with specialist consultants, our team investigated key development considerations and prepared an indicative subdivision concept demonstrating potential for up to 14 residential lots, subject to relevant approvals.

The property subsequently sold for $7.8 million, highlighting the value of informed planning advice in supporting property transactions.

Working Alongside Government

Local governments are navigating increasingly complex planning, infrastructure and development challenges.

Our work with councils spans strategic planning, policy and regulatory advice, and practical implementation support.

The  Local Government Capability Statement outlines our experience and approach to supporting councils in managing growth, responding to legislative change and delivering planning outcomes.

Housing Supply Reform: From Policy to Delivery

Increasing housing supply requires more than changes to planning policy.

Assessment processes, infrastructure coordination, regulatory settings and implementation all influence how efficiently new housing can be delivered.

Our industry perspective considers the opportunities for reform and the importance of translating policy direction into practical measures that support housing delivery.
